Family Learning
Rationale
Family Learning at Moorside High School aims to encourage family members to learn together whilst having fun. It encourages a partnership between that of home and school. The provision is a planned programme of activities across all subject and pastoral areas and is designed to engage adult and child learners together. Wherever possible, opportunities are created for both adults and children to pursue further learning.
The funding is provided by the Learning and Skills Council and Staffordshire County Council and is attached to the adults participating in the programme where they are engaged in learning which will benefit their own learning and that of their child’s.
Family Learning Programmes can be delivered in the following ways:
- Children and adults can participate in a programme that is delivered to the family by members of Moorside staff;
- Children and adults can participate in a programme that is jointly delivered to the family by Moorside and Leek College staff.
