Accessibility Policy
Overview
Moorside High School is keen to maintain an accessible website for all members of our community. The design and development work on the website has attempted to make www.moorside.staffs.sch.uk more accessible by using techniques based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), published by the Web Accessibility Initiative, part of the World Wide Web Consortium.
The site has been developed specifically to ensure the site is fully compliant with WC3 XHTML 1.0 Transistional and CSS 2.0 standards which includes the use of relative display fonts, high contrast colours and alternate descriptions for the vast majority of images. The underlying structure of the site has been structured specifically to increase the overall accessibility of the site. We accept that even more can be done and we will continue to work on achieving 100% compliance with WCAG 1.0 Priority 2 and 3 protocols as the development of the site continues. All pages on this site should carry a minimum level of Level A WCAG conformance (all Priority 1 protocols). Any new page added to the site will also be designed to carry this same minimum level of conformance.
The site has been developed so as to render correctly using any of the browsers shown below. Moorside High School does not endorse the use of any particular browser, including those that are not shown below. However, if your browser does not render the pages correctly and you are using one of the browsers listed below, we strongly recommend that you check to ensure you are using the latest version.
Importance Notice: There are some issues (bugs) with some older browsers that result in minor display errors; however, since these "errors" have no significant effect on legibility or accessibility, no attempt has been made to correct any of these problems by using any of the well-documented techniques or hacks except for the 3 pixel jog fix for Internet Explorer 6.0 which has been applied.
